Dr Alice Penn is an executive coach specialising in leadership performance, transition, and team effectiveness. With a career that spans clinical medicine, corporate finance, and leadership development, Alice brings a rare depth of insight to her work with senior leaders and leadership teams.
Her approach blends clarity, strategic challenge, and deep empathy—helping her clients perform at their best, lead with confidence, and create measurable results in both their professional and personal lives.
Known for her work in performance and transition coaching, Alice partners with senior and high-potential leaders across industries including pharmaceuticals, banking, professional services, tech, and more.
Before her work in executive leadership coaching, Alice was a trusted medical advisor to senior executives in London, supporting global firms on employee wellbeing. She later transitioned into corporate finance, where she worked on healthcare transactions and commercial advisory projects across the UK, Middle East, USA, and India. This global experience, paired with her background in human performance, makes her uniquely placed to support leaders navigating complexity and change.
Alice has lived and worked in both the UK and South Africa and adapts quickly to different cultures and contexts. She holds qualifications in both Executive Coaching and Systemic Team Coaching, and participates in ongoing professional supervision and development in line with international coaching standards.
From Medicine to Leadership
A Journey of Purpose, Performance & Reinvention
My career hasn’t followed a straight line—and that’s exactly what gives me the perspective I bring to my clients today.
I began as a medical doctor in South Africa, where I built a strong foundation in clinical practice before relocating to the UK where I looked after senior executives and advised global firms on employee wellbeing—a role that was both clinical and commercial in nature.
That experience gave me an intimate understanding of what high-performing professionals face behind closed doors. I saw their ambition, their self-doubt, their pressure to perform—and I began to understand not just how they worked, but who they were.
Fuelled by a growing interest in business and strategy, I transitioned into corporate finance, joining a Big 4 firm to work in healthcare deals and commercial advisory. I thrived in fast-paced, high-stakes environments, working with clients across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and the US. But even amidst the success, I knew I wanted to build something of my own—work that blended strategic thinking with human insight.
That realisation became the foundation of my coaching practice. As someone who’s navigated multiple transitions—across sectors, countries, and identities—I know what it takes to evolve, reimagine what’s possible, and step into something bigger.
Today, I work with senior leaders and leadership teams navigating change, complexity, and opportunity. I help them clarify who they are, how they lead, and how to create exceptional results—without losing themselves in the process.
This work matters to me because I’ve lived it. And it matters to my clients because they know I bring insight, challenge, and partnership to every conversation—with a deep understanding of what’s at stake.
